There’s a lot of talk that I’m reading about gendering dancing. One of the things that caught my attention was how men and women present as “sexy”. For women it seems mostly a matter of clothing and posture, but there is a code. Certain fabrics even colors, the way that a woman moves seem to advertise sexiness. Yet what makes a man present as sexy?
I’ve heard that other people think this is super sexy. I’m not really seeing how this is anything more than someone who is attractive. There’s nothing he is doing to be more presentational so to speak. Of course for me this circles back to when men dance “sexy moves” and how it tends to come off as a joke. Is it because we don’t have a societal way for men to express that idea/feeling/desire?
